If unexpected tensile forces occur, e.g. when a vehicle with a fuelling nozzle connected drives away, the breakaway coupling disconnects the connection between the dispenser and the hose in a controlled manner. It seals both sides. Damage to the vehicle nipple, the fuelling nozzle and the dispenser can thus be prevented as far as possible. The breakaway coupling can be reused after a functional test.

We generally recommend using the breakaway coupling with integrated filter. The filter cleans the hydrogen from contamination and can be easily and quickly cleaned during maintenance.

The breakaway coupling consists of the coupling body, the nipple insert and a gas recirculation with a non-return valve. It is also available without gas recirculation.

Breakaway couplings for fuelling nozzles with a data interface additionally contain a fuel dispenser holder including a cable for the data interface.

The fuelling nozzle with one-hand operation is not only visually similar to a petrol nozzle, but also the operation is almost identical. Simply remove the coupling from the fuel dispenser holder and place it on the receptacle.

The integrated rotary union allows a free rotation of the coupling by approx. 250°, then pull back the operating lever and the filling process can begin. Only when a safe connection has been established does the gaseous hydrogen flow through the line.

When the refuelling process is completed, the tank coupling is removed by actuating the locking lever. Of course the refuelling process can be interrupted at any time. The handle is equipped with a magnet for activating a magnetic switch for disengaging the dispenser.

The coupling offers an ATEX interface (infrared) for data transmission between vehicle and filling station.

On request, the fuelling nozzles with data interface are also available with NEC Class 1 Zone 1 approval (according to SAE J2601).
